Chu 14 - FGS Dong Zen Temple

Any place to visit during CNY? Oh, yes!! FGS Dong Zen Temple CNY Lantern & Flora Festival 2012 is open for public from 21st Jan until 7 Feb, 10.30am - 10pm.

I've been once to the temple few years back and yes, I'm back to the temple again on Chu14 with bf and another 2 friends of mine (June & Nigel).

FGS Dong Zen Temple (FGS - 'Fo Guang Shan') is a large Buddhist religious, cultural and educational complex which is located in a small town of Jenjarom, in the Kuala Langat district of Selangor state. It's about an hour drive if you using the Federal Highway, passing the 2 tolls, 1 is at Batu 3 and the other one is  at Klang, by paying each of them RM1.10 and RM1.00. If you are from Subang Jaya, you can use the KESAS Highway by paying RM2.20 and it's estimate about 45 mins drive to there.

Jam like mad

Once you on the right direction, you should see some directions to the temple on some street lamps. The temple is really big as it's built on a really large land and from what I see, parking lots will be sufficient as well as they have their own private car park for visitors. We feel quite disappointed because heavy rain falls down when we almost reached and it makes us had to carry umbrella. :(

The lights in the evening is really amazing. As for this year is a Dragon year, the theme decorated is based on Dragon, is absolutely attracted by the lighting decorations. The rains never stop the peoples from visiting the temple. Peoples arrived in batches by carrying umbrella with them or wearing rain coat, walking through the dragon light decorations.

We can't continue our outdoor photo shooting as the rains getting heavy and heavier. Therefore, we quickly run in to the indoor houses for sheltering until the rains stop. Here, we come to the "The Calligraphy of Goh Ah-Ang". A big piece of calligraphy paper is on the floor for those people who wants to challenge or practicing their art of calligraphy. It's FOC!!

Next, we moved to the other shelter where by Siddartha Gautama statue was there for those Buddhist to have their prayers.

The prayers hall is very big and it looks nice due to the simplicity of it. The prayers hall is even air-conditioned and I don't think there is many other temples that would install air-conditioners in their prayers hall. Perhaps this temple thought of the comfort of their visitors too? Visitors who want to go into the prayers hall must wear plastic cover for slippers/shoes in order to avoid dirty inside the hall. Plastic cover is available at the entrance of the hall and it's FOC!!

The BIG Bell

Once the rains stop, we moved to outside building for photo shooting. It's cool after a heavy rain pours. =D

As we're walking, suddenly we heard a loud bang on the next door of neighborhood. Turn our head to look around and we saw a large group of Chinese Lion Dance association was performing lion dance on the stage. Can't stop myself from photo shooting and wish to go nearer. But it's too crowded and I only can take few photos from far behind the stage.

After the lion dance, we continue our tour in the temple and by pass this sparkling door. Wondering what is attractive with this sparkling door till so many people stopped by for photo shooting. Walk nearer, only realized that this door is made from thousands of recycled mineral water bottles, adding with the lights deco which makes the sparkling lights from far. It's really "blink blink".. hahaha.... Such a creative idea to make used of the recycle items.

In short, this place is a good place to visit. It's only available for once a year during CNY. So, don't miss out the chance to visit this temple with lots of amazing lighting decorations. It's FREE entrance for all. Last but not least, I had a pleasant evening. No doubts getting wet in the rain and tired for a long walk, thus it's really a worth place to visit. I'll be back again next year. =D
