Located in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur and set amongst its neighbourhood of historical buildings and romantic parkland, Muzium Negara’s architecture is a fine blend of the traditional Malay style and modern lines. The museum building, apart from being stimulative from the point of tradition also presents a panaromic view of the development of Malaysia, as depicted by the two large murals of Italian glass mosaic which extend across the Museum’s facade. Muzium Negara was officially opened on 31 August 1963, is a repository of Malaysia’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

Muzium Negara is a three storied structure of 109.7 meters long and 15.1 meters wide and 37.6 meters at the central point. The museum houses four main galleries specialising in ethnology and natural history. The displays range from free-standing tableau showing traditional cultural events like weddings, festivals and beautiful costumes; to the rich variety of weapons, musical instruments, arts and crafts, precious ceramics, and flora & fauna.

Muzium Negara attracts some half million visitors annually. The museum is located at Jalan Damansara and is open from 9.00 am – 6pm daily. It is only closed on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Hari Raya AidilAdha. Admission is RM2.00 for adults and children above 12 years old.

There are 4 galeries in the muzium. The galeries are:

2) Galeri Kerajaan-Kerajaan Melayu Awal
3) Galeri Negeri-negeri Melayu, Sabah dan Sarawak 1511 - 1945
4) Galeri Gerakan Nasionalisma, Kemerdekaan dan Malaysia Kini

Zoo Negara Malaysia is managed by the Malaysian Zoological Society, a non-governmental organization established to create the first local zoo for Malaysians. Zoo Negara is now 45 years old and has matured into a well-known zoo all around the world. We have a total of over 5137 animals from 459 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish.

Zoo Negara covers 110 acres of land which is situated only 5km from the city of Kuala Lumpur. Over the years, the zoo has transformed itself to an open concept zoo with over 90% of its animals kept in spacious exhibits with landscape befitting its nature. We are working in making sure that the old zoo concept is changed entirely.

When we think of Valentine's Day, we often think of red roses, candy in heart- shaped boxes, mushy valentines, and winged cherubs flying about shooting starry-eyed lovers with arrows.

Dis year, the Valentine's Day was fall on Saturday.. same as previous yrs, me n my dear went out for dinner.. On the last Valentine's Day, we went to D'Fortune Western Cuisine & Cafe to have our dinner..

We reached at the restaurant around 8.30pm.. Wah~! So many ppl.. Luckily we already booked the table earlier.. Else, dunno need to wait until wat time then only got place for us..

Hmmm~! The service is not dat good n the food oso not dat nice.. Juz ok nia.. Anyway, nvm lah.. Mayb too many ppl kua.. Dats WHY lor.. xD

during the last CNY, me n my bf, n another 2 of my frens went to Hot Spring, Sg Klah at Sungkai..

Directions: Sungai Klah is located 10km away from the town of Sungkai in Perak. Whether you are coming from the North or the South of Peninsular Malaysia, get to the nearest PLUS Highway and head for Sungkai toll exit. The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Sungkai is approximately 70 minutes. After the exit, turn left at the junction. Travel 1km along the trunk road and turn left. Follow the signage to Sg. Klah Hot Springs Park and you will pass Sungai Klah FELDA village before reaching here.

Qiu (邱) is the 77th most common last name in China. This last name originated from Jiang family. During early Zhou, (Tai Gong Wang) Lu Shang was made the duke of Qi on the east of Ying Qiu (south east of Changle in Shandong). Lu Shang was a beloved duke among his people, simplifying the etiquette to suit the local custom. He also encouraged his people to market their resources like salt and fish, and Qi soon became a powerful kingdom. Later, the Qi kingdom moved their capital to Linliu, and only one clan of the family remained in Ying Qiu. These descendents took on the last name of Qiu.

There are two origins of the surname 丘. One sect stems from descendants of Jiang Ziya who named themselves after the fiefdom their ancestor was given, Yingqiu (營丘), and dropped the "Ying"; this clan thrived in the Fufeng Country of Shanxi. The second sect came from the Qiudun (丘敦) clan of the Wuhuan, who changed their clan name to Qiu when they became sinicized during the Southern and Northern Dynasties.

During the reign of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty, the surname 丘 was determined to be colliding with the name of Confucius, Kong Qiu (孔丘). To avoid this naming taboo, many of those whom bore the surname changed their surname to 邱. This is why the surname 邱 is now more common place than the surname 丘. 邱 ranks 151th in the Hundred Family Surnames, and many with the surname come from Luoyang, Henan or Wuxing, Zhejiang.
