The Chinese people have an affinity for steamboat. It’s comfort food at its best and is one of the most popular choices for Chinese New Year reunion dinners.

It’s been a long time since we had steamboat (since our Chinese New Year reunion dinner!) since i get to know this new opened steamboat restaurant is having a special promotion "Buy 1 Free 1" juz at RM39.90 for almost 1 month. Then, I immediately dated my frens to have dinner at dis steamboat restaurant. Here we went to Umami House of Steamboat on Thursday.

The selection of food at the buffet counter is enormous. There’s the fresh seafood section (large meaty crabs, flower crabs, prawns, shellfish of all kinds including green mussels, scallops, clams, bamboo clams, etc). The fish ball section has enough items for a feeding frenzy. Then there’s also the vegetables section where you get all types of vegetables and noodles. Umami has an additional section for BBQ (BBQchicken wings, fried chicken wings, satay n etc). Finally, there’s a section for the usual fried noodles and fried rice for those who can’t live without their carbs.


There’s a selection of 2 soups per table, of which you can choose from a variety of chicken soup, Thai tomyam and Ma Lat soup. We selected the chicken soup and Thai tomyam. The soups were quite tasty and sweet especially after cooking all the seafoods. xD

After dinner, there's also fresh fruits and desserts section to serve the customers. Various types of fruits such as watermelon, papaya, honey melon n etc. In the dessert section, they serve ice-cream in various types of flavour (chocolate, yam, blueberry, mints n etc).

According to The Star newspaper, the fares for bus n taxis will cost 30% more from next month.
The new fares for taxi has been increase from RM2 to RM3. Additional 10sen will be charge to passengers for every 115km instead of 150km currently. If the taxis caught in the traffic jam, the fare will be rm3 for the first 3mins.. however, additional 10sen will be charge for every subsequent 21seconds.

Express bus fares will go up by two sen per kilometre, while for stage buses in Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas, the increase will be between 25 and 70 sen, according to the zones.

Schoolbus fares in urban areas will also increase from RM21.10 to RM27.43 for the first kilometre and from RM1.55 to RM2.02 for every subsequent kilometre.

For rural areas, the increase will be from RM15.85 to RM20.61 for every kilometre.

since i never write something about food, so decided to write something about it.. in my previous blog, i was talking about having a boat ride in The Mines.. after the ride, v felt very hungry n find something to fill our stomach.. here comes the restaurant called Food & Tea..

last saturday, one of my fren from ipoh came down to kl to join our PF gathering.. the gathering is to celebrate 1 of the member's birthday.. June Tan's Birthday Gathering xD

in the morning, he came to find me n my another fren, june to go for breakfast.. v decided to go puchong to have nice dim sum xD after taken our breakfast, then v go to Mines for shopping.. v taken a boat ride in the Mines.. it juz cost us rm27 per person for 40 minutes to the North Lake.. after few hrs in the Mines, v felt very tired n decided to go home for a rest.. v went back to June's house for a rest..

around 7pm, v go to fetch another fren, Vinnie for dinner at Silva.. during the dinner, v saw something.. dunno whether dat fella is a guy or girl.. having such a long hair n wear white clothes.. juz like dat kind of dirty things.. omg~! really scared the kids in Silva.. ntg much to care of dat fella.. then v decided to make a move n continue wif our activities..

as requested by other PF members for quite sometime, v finally brought Vinnie to the gathering.. she was unsuspected guest for the gathering.. :P ntg much to do during the gathering.. same as previous gathering, v juz chit chat, drink, play cards n UNO stackor.. hmm, got a bit improvement lah.. hehe ^^ the gathering ends around 1something..

For the last 3 weeks, my office was having renovation.. since we are getting more payment from a project in SG. Buloh, my boss decided to renovate the office.. before the renovation, my office has 6 rooms.. my boss decide to break 1 room, so the space will become larger.. then he oso want to change the ceiling n change the floor carpet to radiant wood..

when the office is almost finish renovate, me n my colleague (2 girls) rearrange the furnitures.. cant imagine dat juz 2 of us carrying tables, racks n some of the floor radiant woods.. hehe ^^ unfortunately, while moving 1 of the table, the table is loosen n it bumped on to my leg.. omg~! damn pain.. cant even step on the floor.. luckily, after a moment, i can slowly walk to my place and have a sit.. i saw my leg, it was SWOLEN :'(
